Celebrate! Easter Peep Show... (or bunny bags)

I co-hosted an Easter egg hunt for the moms and kids in our Mothers Group. The kids needed something to take home all their "loot" in, so I made up these Peep bags (or as my son calls them, Bunny bag)
I drew up an outline looking at the adorable peep bunting around the blog world. This little guy is only sewed up to mid-face so you can get inside. (Little hands only!) I also added a handle at the start and end of my seam.
The kids seemed to really like them and they didn't take long at all to make.
What treats will fill your peep bags?

Natural Nests (Easter treat) and Tasty Tuesday Party

First, thanks to all the new linkers last week... seemed like there were a few! Also, I really appreciate those of you who come back week after week!
Make sure you are connected with facebook, I link up lots of things that I am doing and looking at throughout the week!
I am in full Easter mode here... house decorated a bit and lots of crafting done. Check out my latest posts bar above to see the Easter Basket and Wreath I made (both tutorials!).
Now, for a tasty Easter treat!
I'm calling them Natural Nests... Don't get me wrong.. I am drooling over all the colorful rice krispie versions of this around! But, I am co-hosting an Easter party for 20 kids 3 and under and the thought of all those kids sugared up makes me scared! So... I did a little looking and found a mostly healthy version, and I think they look great! Oh, and they taste good too!
You will need:
even parts of honey and peanut butter (I used 3/4 cups)
Heat honey and peanut butter in a pot until bubbly... keep stiring!
Pour in corn flakes (or rice krispies) until all the mix is used and the cereal is all coated.
Put a spoonful in greased muffin tins. I used both mini and regular. After it cools a bit, grease your fingers and press the mix down into the tin. Place 2/3 Almonds in each one for "eggs".
I put each on on round graham cracker for a base. Keep refrigerated until use.
I've wrapped my individually for the kids tomorrow... hope they like them!
Now... I had a hard time picking a few features this week! SO many great ideas!
Your Features are pinned on my Tasty Tuesday Featured Board on Pinterest...

Easter Celebration: Wreath {tutorial}

I've got a few Easter Projects in the works, and a couple of SUPER Easter Basket tutorials coming... so let's Celebrate Easter! And the reason for Easter: JESUS!
Last year I made this neat bunting... which we are proudly displaying again this year. And for Christmas presents... remember my year of pillows? Here's the Easter one.
Today... Check out my Easter Wreath...
Can I just say how much I am going to miss Picnik???? WAHAAA!!! SO sad!
Want to make your own wreath? You can... using the premium Picnik stickers that are available to everyone until it closes mid-April.
I was going to use a wire frame, but then realized the green glitter foam was to small. So, I cute out a cardboard base and went from there.
I found this great green glitter foam (try saying that 10 times fast!) at my local stationary store and was inspired to make this wreath. You can use anything for the base though. Felt, foam, glitter...
On the back I drew my rough wreath shape, then cut it out with pinking shears and stuck it to the cardboard.
I printed these eggs and crosses from Picnik, then glued them to this foam board. I don't actually even know what it is... have had this scrap for awhile... but, normal foam or really anything to add depth is good. I let them dry, then put mod-podge on top for shine.
Cut them out... I wished at this point that I had more eggs... but, I played around with the layout...
Used Foam glue to attach the eggs...
and ta-da! We love it! Oh and I added some twine to hang it up.

and to give you a peak into our day yesterday... here's what the afternoon looked like:
yes, we are dying eggs and eating eggs at the same time!

and yes, my boys are mostly naked to avoid staining their clothes...

and yes again, the little one doesn't like the dye on his hands... it turned into quite a scene right after I took this picture.
How are you preparing for Easter?

Thyme and Garlic Potatoes and Tasty Tuesday Party

a few things....remember to connect with the social networking buttons on the sidebar! also, I have a flickr page where I would LOVE you to post anything inspired by naptime creations. I'll feature YOUR creations occasionally on this site. Check it out!
Also, is there interest in me opening up  Tasty Tuesday to crafts too?..
This was a little creation I came up with for dinner last week... and everyone loved it! Even my boys ate it, so I count that as a success. I liked it, but I love anything with potatoes so my opinion hardly counts.
This is just a basic roasted potato... I call it:
Garlic and Thyme Roasted Potato
the olive oil dressing is a combination of:
1/4 cup olive oil
1 TBS minced garlic
1 TBS Thyme
add a pinch of salt as well.
toss the cubed potatoes in the dressing, let sit for 10 min.
Bake in the oven at 350 for around an hour (or until the potatoes are soft and the oil is absorbed)
I added green beans with about 10 min. to go.

NOW, lets see the amazing things YOU are making.
remember all the features are pinned and linked to my facebook page. I hope you will follow along in both these networking sites to get all the updates!

Family Birthday Sign

My super talented sister (who should start her own blog!) Made me this sign for Christmas. I LOVE IT! However, on the flight back home to Hong Kong, it didn't do too well. We thought we had it wrapped well, but this is how it looked. opps!
All but two of the months cracked...
It should look something like this:

and here's how it looks after my repairs! I just hand drew the month letters on with a sharpie... My sister has a cricut, so the original was slighter cuter!
I love it! and I'm never going to forget another birthday... (maybe!)

a sneak peak

So, I've been wanting to make this project for a while now... and now that Picnik is almost done for, I had to get on it! So... here's a peak as to what I've been working on:

Its a transportation ABCs made entirely in Picnik using only text and stickers. I'm SO loving how its going to far. I'm now down to the more difficult letters (What can I do with Q????) I'm so pleased because my three year old has recognized every vehicle I've made (roller, police car, etc!)Yeah!
Anyway, when I'm finished I will be sharing the entire alphabet (full sized) for FREE to my lovely readers. Stay tuned!

Minestrone Soup and Tasty Tuesday party

This was one of the tastiest and easiest soups I've made... Here's how its done.
Ingredients needed:
2 cans of your favorite tomato soup. I use a organic chunky type.
1 cup elbow noodles
1 zucchini
2 carrots
1 large onion
garlic salt and Italian seasoning to taste.

Saute the vegetables in some olive oil until tender.
While the veggies are cooking, boil the pasta until just done.
When veggies are soft, pour in the soup, add seasoning and pasta, simmer for 25 min at low heat.
thats it!! Yum!!!

Now, lets see what you all have been cooking up in your kitchens!

What I've been up to...

I've decided to start a new label... What I've been up to. Occasionally I'll share whats been going on in our life (outside of crafting!). Today I'm sharing what has been consuming my Wed and Thur afternoons for months! The school where my husband works here in Hong Kong put on a dinner show this weekend. Its the 4th one like this that I have been a part of and its always a blast! For the other three shows I was working at the school, but now that I'm home with the boys I was pulled out of "retirement" to work with the tumblers like I have in the past.
The ICS renaissance evening is a fundraising event filled with music, dance, theater, and several talent acts. (and of course testimonies about the school, fundraising auctions and raffles)
I work with the tumblers/Gymnasts to put on a crowd-wowing performance.
Our performance had three parts. Trapeze

 Tumbling on the mats

and a Box and Springboard act.
The kids did AMAZING both nights and it was a blast. I must say I will be happy to have my afternoons back though!
My Husband was the event MC... isn't he handsome in his costume!
